We Need Candidates – Step Up and Run in 2026
February 11, 2026Democrats cannot afford to sit on the sidelines in 2026. If we want to protect our values, our democracy, and our community, we need strong Democratic candidates willing to step forward and run for local office.
Local elections shape everything from how our elections are run to how public safety, land use, and county services function. These offices matter and they need leaders who believe in fairness, transparency, and accountable government.
Grand County Offices on the 2026 Ballot:
- County Commissioner – District 3
- County Clerk and Recorder
- County Treasurer
- County Assessor
- County Surveyor
- County Sheriff
- County Coroner
If we want to succeed we must contest every race. Even when a seat feels challenging, running a Democratic candidate builds momentum, strengthens turnout, and ensures our values are represented on the ballot. Every race we leave uncontested is a missed opportunity to organize, educate voters, and grow our coalition.
You absolutely do not need to be a politician to run. If you care about Grand County, believe in Democratic values, and are willing to learn and work hard, we want to talk to you.
If you are interested, even just thinking about it, please reach out now. These conversations need to happen early, and your decision to step forward could make all the difference in 2026.
